“I wanted to share my feedback on the just concluded vacation in Rajasthan with family. I take this opportunity to thank Raza for the awesome Kerala vacation which he had planned for us last year in Nov, 2014 – the itinerary, properties and most importantly the driver for the tour, were simply fantastic. My kids still fondly remembers the driver Anil Pandi as their Anil uncle. Thanks to the wonderful Kerala experience we undertook our second vacation with Virtual Holidays from 21st to 29th Dec, 2015 in Rajasthan. As expected Raza had again planned a fantastic itinerary and the properties were equally good. He had also upgraded our car from a Swift Desire/Toyota Etios to an Innova which was a pleasant surprise. Although the hotel in Ajmer could have been better – this one was a totally veg restaurant who doesn’t even serve egg for breakfast. However the car & especially the driver turned out to be the biggest dampener and disappointment of the tour. The car always needed 5 to 6 attempts before starting as there were some issues with its self start and to top it all, the car AC was not working for the entire tour. On asking the driver to get the problems checked, he would say he doesn’t know as this is not his car and he doesn’t drive it either. I was pretty sceptical about the driver from the very beginning as he’s the most crucial leg in the success of any tour. This driver made my worst nightmares come true – He was absolutely uncooperative – reluctant to drive after 6 pm in the evening. That’s not all he completely avoided the highways and took the most rural, kutcha roads while travelling from one location to another despite repeated requests in the pretext of saving time, especially from Udaipur to Jodhpur and from Jodhpur to Pushkar. We always ended up spending much more time than needed to travel and also had to endear the journey through the interiors and dust of Rajasthan without AC. And the roads were such that ensured the journey was nothing less than backbreaking – especially for the kids. He was not at all familiar with the timings etc of the site seeing places or with the direction to these places either. We went to Udaipur Sajjangarh Biological Park and Jaipur Zoo and couldn’t see these places as they’re closed on Tuesdays and our driver had no clue about it. Moreover we had to use the GPS & Google Maps on my phone to find the way to the sites. Nevertheless I guess this was a one-off think and perhaps Murphy’s law caught up with us. Barring this the entire tour was a fantastic one and the kids had great fun especially in the Osian Desert Camp and the Pushkar village resort. Thanks Raza and Virtual Holidays for the lovely memories and look forward to another tour with you guys – Kashmir here we come!”
